After an off-season for the World's best that has given them the chance to recharge, decompress and then start to prepare and train in earnest for the 2019 season, it is all about to kick off here in just over a month, as we count down to the Opening event of the 2019 APP World Tour in London.
The Race from the Tower: Distance
This year's edition of the London SUP Open will see an enhanced distance race that will start in front of the Tower of London and head west past all of London's most recognizable landmarks, to finish in the globally renowned rowing town of Putney. Unlike 2018 where it was a tie-breaker, the Thames race will be the official distance race for the 2019 London SUP Open, providing a spectacular course like no other to challenge the World's best.
New Format to be revealed for the World Tour Sprints in London
2019 will see the introduction of a revolutionary new format for sprint racing that will be revealed this month as we build up to the first stop of the season in London. The new format will provide the most dynamic sporting spectacle yet for Stand Up Paddle Racing, with short, fast paced sprints still being the order of the day in a cut throat elimination format. The venue will be at Hackney Marshes, as a part of the Hackney Festival of Fitness, and in conjunction with the Canal & River Trust.
Stay tuned for more on this to be released at appworldtour.com and across social media @appworldtour soon
